Avenues residents rejoiced when Avenues Proper opened a neighborhood tavern a few years ago. With a successful restaurant up and running, the Proper team turned their attention to a larger brewing space (Proper Brewing) adjacent to a bar with skee-ball, pool, and pinball and place where you can get a great burger (Proper Burger).

Since 2012, Bonneville Brewery has been crafting beers and keeping it local, like their signature Antelope Amber Ale named after Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake. And luckily, you can have a Bonneville beer paired with a solid meal at their Tooele brewpub.

A staple restaurant in Trolley Square, you can only get Desert Edge beers at the restaurant or at special events around town. They are known for the LDS Stout and Happy Valley Hefeweizen among other rotating taps that always pair well with food.

Wasatch Brewery founder, Greg Schirf, always had a knack for grabbing attention — at first just for making beer in Utah in 1986 (Utah's first brewery since prohibition), and then for making beer like Polygamy Porter ("Don't forget to take one home to the wives"). Schirf was a Utah pioneer in many ways forging the way toward more open laws and guidelines for breweries to deliver tasty sudsy products to Utahns.
